About CarDep

CarDep shows what a car really costs per month, not just what it costs to buy.

We add up depreciation, fuel or electricity, servicing and repairs, insurance and road tax for 190 car models that are common in Sweden, new and used from 2005 onwards. Every car also gets a value grade from A to E that weighs the cost against quality, safety, comfort, space and performance.

Used prices are based on tens of thousands of Swedish ads, mainly on Blocket, and new prices on what Swedish dealers advertise the cars for and on the Swedish Tax Agency's new car price list. The page How we calculate explains the details.

Independent

CarDep does not sell cars, insurance or loans and does not take payment for placements. There are no ads and no affiliate links, and CarDep itself collects nothing about visitors. The host counts visits, see the privacy policy.

Limitations

The numbers are calculations and estimates, not quotes. Real prices depend on mileage, condition, equipment and where you buy. Always check the car and the price before you buy.
